I just found your channel, and like it. My wife is from Malang, and I plan to retire there from the U.S. soon. I have also been to Jogya, and one of the things I think that contrasts it from other cities in Indonesia, is it is cleaner and a little more pedestrian friendly. Having special status in Indonesia, and the home of the sultan you would expect that to be the case. I have also been to Borobudur, I thought it was amazing from a history perspective, however my wife thinks we were overcharged, because I am a Bule. I also thought it was excessively hot, even for Indonesia. I think all of the black stone of the temple creates a heat island effect. Well keep enjoying your travels throughout Indonesia. Stay safe and stay well.

I´ve been there 10 years ago with 4 friends of mine and it was way less "touristy". There were maybe 50, 80 people around us watching the sunrise but not hundreds and the locals offered some tea from thermos flusks to us instead of "tourist souvenir stands"
